Before you can start exploring the features of this neat app, you'll need to sign in with an account. Use your Google profile or an email address to do so. You'll be provided with tips on how to use the app efficiently.
The app opens with an avatar and the tap to speak icon below. Users can also type in their requests using the keyboard and the Assistant will pull up the information off the internet or launch applications installed on your device.
Let the Assistant make your job easier
Assistant app is really easy-to-use, simply speak out your request and the app will assist you but make sure there isn't any background noise while you do so. Assistant can find information on the internet, open web pages, search for coffee shops and restaurants nearby and pull up a map with directions.
Swipe the screen left to find a history of your searches and up to find suggestions. Swipe right to find some of the most popular searches performed with the app. You can also have the Assistant read your latest text messages, check the weather and traffic or your inbox for new emails.
Customize the app to your liking
There's an icon on the right side that opens the menu and all its settings. Change the assistant's profile by choosing from three available avatars. Users can also build their own avatar, by changing the skin color, the hair style and color, choosing other shapes of brows or changing the eye color. In addition, you can add glasses to your male or female assistant, change the shape of the nose, mouth and even clothes they wear.
The application also comes with multiple themes to choose from and the option of selecting from multiple voices and accents. There's also a list of languages that can be changed. Assistant comes with many features and it can be set to learn your favorite places and things that you like but only if you upgrade to a premium account for 2.71$ per month or 17.55$ single payment.
