Considering that people usually store a lot of personal information on their phone, an antivirus app becomes a priority especially since some apps come with malicious content. NQ Antivirus Free is a simplistic antivirus that will provide you with only the basic protection.
Simplistic interface, stripped of many essential features
The UI is rather simplistic and resembles that of many similar apps, with a large scan icon in the middle of the screen and a menu on the top right. The app also has a blinking icon recommending users to upgrade to the premium version for additional features.
You can have the app automatically scan installed applications to ensure protection against malware. It doesn't come with instructions and that's because it lacks many essential features that almost all other antivirus programs have.
Scan your phone for malware
As do most antivirus apps, when first launching the app NQ urges users to perform a scan to diagnose their device. It doesn't take the app much to perform the scan and you can't navigate through it while it's analyzing data.
The report is neatly displayed on the main screen and there's always a suggestion to boost the phone's performance, but in order to do so users must download another app by the developer.
Some shortcomings
The app only comes with the scan feature and it even failed to detect an application containing adware that we've purposely installed on the device.
This proves that the isn't very efficient in keeping your device safe and it's also missing key features. In addition, if users wish to get more features they must upgrade to a more complete antivirus app designed by the same developer.
