    HTC Google Nexus One – first to carry the Android 2.1 OS

    Search engine-based company Google officially launched this month Nexus One by HTC, the first handset in the world to sport the Android 2.1 operating system. According to the maker, the fresh mobile phone, which sports the latest hardware technology from HTC and the newest software from Google, is being launched so as to exemplify a new way in which consumers can purchase an Android-based device, namely through web store Google hosts. Here are some of its high-standard features: Qualcomm Snapdragon 3G QSD8250 1GHz chipset is present on board, coupled with 512MB Flash and 512MB RAM, as well as a 3.7-inch AMOLED touchscreen display that boasts a 480 x 800 pixel (WVGA) resolution, a 5-megapixel photo snapper with auto focus, flash and geo tagging, 32GB of removable storage via microSD card slot, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a 1400 mAh battery that can deliver up to ten hours of talk time or up to 290 hours of standby time.

    AT&T helps HP launch its new iPAQ Glisten

    Mobile-phone carrier AT&T announced recently that it would soon add to its offering yet another interesting handset powered by Microsoft's Windows Mobile 6.5 operating system, namely the HP iPAQ Glisten. The new handset will become available for purchase with a full QWERTY keyboard and with a touchscreen display, which is 2.5-inch large, boasts a 320 x 240-pixel (QVGA) resolution and supports 65K colors, as well as with a 3.1-megapixel photo snapper with video-recording capabilities. The specification list of the new mobile phone also includes support for Quad-band 850/900/1800/1900 MHz and UMTS/HSDPA Tri-band 850/1900/2100 MHz frequencies, as well as 256 MB of RAM, 512 MB of ROM, and a microSD memory card slot that allows users to include up to 32GB of additional storage space into the equation. Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g with WPA2 security also comes in to complete the connectivity options of the new HP iPAQ Glisten.
